Rules about food in the school

In order to comply with the Health Schools Act, Board policy and school rules please remember:

1.  Our school is a nut free zone:  this includes peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews pistachios etc.  We have many children in the school who have life threatening allergies to these foods and even a slight oil residue on a table, toy or other surface can induce a reaction.

Be aware of items like granola bars and trail mix as they frequently contain nuts without it being in the name of the product.

2. Please avoid sending snacks containing eggs due to severe allergies in our class.

2.  Please do not send in treats for the class (ie. for birthdays, holidays).  We are not permitted to hand out these items to the children.  They will unfortunately be sent back to you.  Teaching staff are under the same restrictions, we can not give out candy treats for Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc.
